Feature Map

All features, their patterns, and implementation status.

Each feature demonstrates specific front-end and back-end patterns. The implemented features cover the most important production patterns. Planned features have specs that serve as blueprints for developers.

Feature overview

Status and priority are in parentheses after each feature.

  • Auth & Roles (Implemented, P0) - auth flows, RBAC, protected routes, middleware.
  • Dashboard (Implemented, P0) - charts, stat cards, responsive grid, skeleton loading.
  • Team Members (Implemented, P0) - virtualized table, sorting, filtering, bulk select, inline edit.
  • Projects (Implemented, P1) - list/detail pages, nested routes, health tracking, timeline.
  • Task Board (Implemented, P1) - drag-and-drop kanban, optimistic UI, status transitions.

Status legend

  • Implemented - Fully built with production-grade code in both frontend and backend.
  • Spec only - Requirements documented in docs-dev/features/. Not yet implemented. Serves as a blueprint for developers.

Implemented features

These features have full frontend (Next.js) and backend (NestJS) implementations.

Auth & Roles (P0)

Login, registration, session management via Better Auth. Permission-based access control with four roles (Super Admin, Admin, Manager, Member). Global auth guard on all API routes. Frontend auth provider, permission checks, protected routes.

Dashboard (P0)

Organization and personal dashboard views based on user role. Stat cards with trends, charts (bar, line, pie, area), date range filtering, greeting based on time of day. Server-side data fetching with skeleton loading states.

Team Members (P0)

Team roster with data table. Column sorting, filtering, bulk selection, bulk actions, CSV export. Activity tracking and project assignment views. Full CRUD with detail pages.

Projects (P1)

Project list and detail pages with nested routes. Custom status columns per project. Project health tracking (on track, at risk, behind schedule) derived from task progress vs. timeline. Progress bars and timeline visualization.

Task Board (P1)

Project-scoped kanban board with drag-and-drop. Custom status columns, task comments, activity tracking. Task reordering within and across columns. CRUD operations with detail modal. "My Tasks" cross-project list view.

Clients (P2)

Client management with multi-step wizard form showcasing many form patterns (text, email, URL, phone, selects, address fields). Full CRUD, CSV export, detail tabs. Previously "Client Portal" in early specs, but the implemented feature focuses on internal client management.

Audit Log (P2)

Comprehensive activity log showing who did what and when. Filterable by actor, action, entity type, and date range. Keyboard navigation shortcuts. Backend tracks all significant actions across the system.

Marketing (P1)

Separate Next.js app (apps/marketing) with CMS-driven architecture. Payload runs inside it, so content is edited at /admin and read in-process through the Local API. Landing pages composed from a block library, a blog, pricing, feature highlights, footer. Scroll-triggered animations, responsive design.

Spec-only features

These features have requirements and plans in docs-dev/features/ but are not yet implemented. They exist so developers can:

  • Practice implementing features from detailed specs
  • Use them as references when designing similar features for their own products
  • Add the functionality to the app they are building here

Feature folders

All feature documentation lives in docs-dev/features/<name>/. Each folder contains at minimum a requirements.md and plan.md.

Build order

Everything in phases 1 to 3 already ships here. Follow the same order when you build the equivalent set for your own domain.

Phase 1 (Foundation): Auth & Roles, Dashboard, Team Members

Phase 2 (Core Features): Projects, Task Board, Marketing

Phase 3 (Advanced): Clients, Audit Log

Future: AI Assistant, Location Map, i18n, and remaining spec-only features
