VJA Start
What VJA Start is, what the repo contains, and where to go next.
VJA Start is a Turborepo monorepo you clone and build your product inside. It ships a marketing site with its own CMS, a dashboard, a REST API, this documentation site, and a Playwright suite. They run together against a seeded database.
The apps run a project management application end to end, and that application is where your first feature goes. You edit it in place, so there is no generator to run and no thinner starter to produce.
What is in the repo
| App | What it is |
|---|---|
apps/portal | The dashboard: auth, projects, tasks, team, clients |
apps/api | REST API on NestJS, Fastify and Prisma |
apps/marketing | Public site with Payload as its CMS |
apps/docs | This site |
apps/e2e | Playwright end-to-end tests |
Shared UI, logging, and tool configuration live in packages/. The rules, skills, and workflows live in .claude/. Claude Code reads them on every session, so the code it writes keeps to the same patterns.
Getting it running
Setup lives in the README: prerequisites, environment files, install, the database and its seed, and the demo login.
Once the apps are up, Making it yours covers what a new project changes on day one.
Where to go next
- Vision covers what the reference application is, the domain it models, and how you build your own product on top of it.
- Feature map lists every feature, the patterns it demonstrates, and whether it is implemented or still a written spec.
